The Power of Rituals

When it comes to transforming your body, mind, soul and life…. Then the rituals become YOUR destiny! KEEP IT FUN & KEEP IT SIMPLE as these are your hidden riches.

Rituals have a very strong healing power, they create meaning, they give security and perspectives, expand joy as we practice them again and again. They are a conversation between your previous identity and your new identity.

They are not habits or routine in the way we perform them each day without thinking. The Rituals become our meaningful habits and routine because we perform them with awareness, with mindfulness and with dedication. We use them to replace bad habits and addictive routine, to change and improve our life. They give physical form to our emotional and spiritual transformation. They are our SAVIORS.

HOW TO START

  • Find time for your Ritual each day
  • Create your peaceful setting or your sacred place
  • Set realistic goals – then set your intention – what do you want to change – write it down.
  • Flexibility (be easy on yourself) in your approach or how to start : Light a candle and breath mindfully to calm your body and mind
  • Conscious recognition : Engage your five senses to stay present
  • What do you want to connect with ? with self, with others, with nature, with transcendence. Define these.
  • Personalize your morning/evening Ritual.
  • You find your new identity you feel comfortable and happy with
  • Express your deep appreciation, contemplation and gratitude for your new Change of Attitude
  • Congratulate yourself and embrace yourself for this new and courageous step. Be proud of yourself and keep it going!

The Rituals could be a mix of shamanic, ayurvedic, druidic, pagan, japanese, religious, spiritual, creative, prayer or meditation, singing, journaling, … whatever you choose, it should be done with a clear and positive attitude, faith, gratitude and hope.

HERE A FEW EXAMPLES OF RITUALS

There are different types of exercises and practical applications, here a few examples :

  • Choose the lifestyle that appeals to you
  • Write your thoughts in a good plan agenda, meant for each month with a scale of feelings, emotions, living experiences, values, guiding principles, a bucket list, goals, habits, your inner critic, self-esteem, and so on… this agenda is called “ein Guter Plan” and is wonderful to write in and make a self reflection.
  • Contact with the nature such as a walk , meditation, perception exercises, mindfulness exercises, hug tree, mantras, observation, affirmations such as “Sankalpa” (your heart desires); concentrate on the sound of silence, make a small fire….
  • Let your soul fly: with incense rituals, visualisations, cards tarot, daydreaming….
  • Take a bath (if no time during the week, then during the weekend!)
  • Herbal rituals such as incense cleaning, medicinal plants for protection, amulets,
  • Symbolic celebrations, for example dancing around a fire, praying or singing mantras. All these adapted to your patterns of behavior.
  • Mourning Rituals to heal your pain – write your feelings, accept them, make them alive to be able to move on…
  • Soul collage – make a patchwork of your present situation and your new future one.
